WHAT IS A POWER METER ?

The amount of power (torque x angular velocity) generated by the riders legs is measured by a device called a Power Meter.
Training using a power meter has become very popular these days for the following reasons
1. It gives the rider instantaneous feedback on how much effort is being put.
2. Precise analysis of rides.
Power meters transmit data wirelessly and can be paired to smart bike computers.
More than your speed and cadence numbers, the power measured in watts is gaining paramount importance for training and racing.
